Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
We recently received a Notice of Hearing for the Motions for Enlargement of Time to File Response filed by us regarding a foreclosure case against us. We are currently working on a loan modification and have received a letter from our bank confirming that they are working on the modification. Are we supposed to go to this hearing? What is exactly the purpose of the hearing and what should we bring? We don't have a lawyer since our area legal aid lawyer said we don't have a solid enough defense and we can't afford a lawyer.

It is difficult to know exactly what happened here based on your summary. I assume you or someone on your behalf filed a motion for an enlargement of time to answer the complaint. The hearing is to see how much time you need to answer the complaint and or provide discovery. To find a consumer lawyer in your area, go to

Yes, go to the hearing and let the judge know how much more time you will need.
