Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Recording phone calls w/out notification

Earlier this year I began dealing w a collectio agency. The reps never told me that the phone calls were being recorded until several conversations later and that was just in conversation. Recently I found out that that rep is no longer there, and they are now saying that they may be recording the calls. Is this something worth pursuing or should I let it go. I believe they may also be in violation of a few FDCPA.

Re: Recording phone calls w/out notification

Remember that, if the calls were made from outside of Florida, there may have been no legal requirement to record the calls. Most states don't have laws requiring notice for recording calls.

As far as whether it's worth pursuing, you should speak with an FDCPA attorney.
