Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

What is my recourse regarding a bogus claim of damaged carpet after I moved out of apartment? They immediately sent to a collection agency that is also harassing me. I responded by disputing claim in writing, but both companies are still sending me a bill and are now charging interest on something that is disputed with no proof.
