Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I was refused a copy of my lease agreement

Thanks for the service. We recently received a demand for payment for $285 for alleged debt from our previous apartment complex. I called and spoke with gentleman from management company and according to their breakdown of debt, we were not given part of our deposit for our pets. I remember them telling me at lease signing that like $150 was non-refundable and $100 was. But I don't have my original copy of the lease agreement after we moved. The representative said, ''I am not required, nor do I want to give you a copy of the lease agreement.'' All I want is proof that the deposit was wholly non-refundable. I don't understand this. :(

Thanks,

Bret

In writing, dispute the debt and demand verification including documentation. If you are sued, make the saame demand as part of pre-trial discovery and counterclaim for the money that you believe is due you..
