Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Repossesion rights

About a year before my ex and I split up, we went and got a truck for him in both our names for him to use for his home business. He paid on it on time for approx. 2 1/2 years and then I recv'd a notice that he was behind and they were looking to reposses the truck, which they eventually did. Now, there's an outstanding balance due after sale at auction and I dont want to held responsible for this amount. Can I take him to small claims court or anything else to make him pay the amount due, since it was never my truck (I never used the truck, ever) I realize that it has messed up my credit already by going into repossession, by I am just scraping by as it is and I think he should be made to pay this amount off and not me. He's cost me too much already. PS: we were never married but were together for over twenty years with children - of which, he doesnt pay any child support (yet - we are just now going thru the proceedings for that).

Re: Repossesion rights

Yes. But it will have an impact on your liability to the creditor.
