Responsibility for bills after death of mate

Is a spouse responsible for any credit card bills that were in a spouse's name only after the death of the spouse?

Re: Responsibility for bills after death of mate

No. Make certain your spouse's personal representative (executor of his/her estate) or you (if there is none) contacts the credit card companies and report him/her as deceased. Be prepared to send each company a death certificate.
