Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Seize my Bank Accounts?

I have a credit card company telling my that by next week ,my bank account will be seized, and there will be a judgement agaist me from the district attorney. Also, that I will have 40% of my wages garnished. Can a credit card company do this? I thought only the IRS and child support could do that?

Re: Seize my Bank Accounts?

If there has been no action served on you by the credit card company, they will have to retain an attorney to bring a lawsuit against you. They cannot simply seize your assets (unless there are criminal circumstances relating to serious felony charges) without your notice and chance to defend yourself.

Seek an attorney for a fuller discussion of your rights.

Best of luck.
