Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Sirs:

My father passed away and left credit card debt behind and my mother is not named on the account. They have put the debt into a collection company trying to collect from his estate but there is no estate/monies available - how should she respond (or not) to the collection companies? Should she write to them and let them know there is no estate? She is living off of social security. Is there a example of a letter she can use? Thanks for your help!

I doubt it will stop the calls, but she could send them a letter telling them there is no estate. There is no standard form letter for that.
