Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

When my son passed away,he had no job or income for 2010.He was on a payment plan with IRS to pay off taxes from 2009.He was not married,had no children,had no estate,nothing.Will the parents be liable to IRS and how do they notify IRS of his death?

the parents are not responsible as long as you sign nothing stating that you will pay. The IRS should know of his death already. However, the next time a notice comes in the mail, mail them a certificate of death; or go the IRS office near you and give them a copy of his death certificate. So sorry for your loss. My son was 37 and passed away unexpectedly last year. Please look for a group to help you through this pain.
