Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Statue of limitation on debt
I lived in Florida foro 20 years and moved to Nevada 8 months ago. I am receiving phone call s(voice mail) from a collection agency about an overall draft that I supposely have with a bank since 1998...I don't remember anything about this bank account...What is the statue of limitation for this debt...?
Can they do harrassing calls like that?

Re: Statue of limitation on debt
If it was an account in Florida, it's five years. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act forbids harassment, but it's not harassment to try to collect a debt, even if they try to call every day.
