Statue of Limitations on Contract

I did a voluntary repossession of a vehicle in 1999 and have been paying on the balance since 2002. The creditor is now sueing for the remaining balance. If the breach occurred in 1999, the statue of limitaitons ran out in 2004, I should have grounds for dismissal correct? I do not remember and can not find where I signed a written agreement to pay the remaining balance.

Statute of limitations in Florida on breach of written contract is five years. So it probably has run but I would need to see what claims the company is bringing.
