Statue of limitations

On a loan that has been written off by a bank, then has been bought up or taken over by an out of state company, what is the statue on collections - harressment - etc. by this bunch of ''artists''? No suit was made by bank, no lein, etc. Just listed on credit report.

Most likely, five years from the due date or last payment or acknowledgement of the debt.
