Statute for debt collection on Florida

Can a collection agency try to collect a debt from 13 years ago fron a university tuition and threat you to placed on the credit report, what can I do based on the florida statutes for debt collection

If the debt is based upon a government guaranteed student loan, then there is no statute of limitations.
