Stopping Payment on a check

I had a hair salon damage my hair so I stopped payment on the check. They did not do what I asked and caused damage to my hair and overcharged me. They charged me for 2 haircuts when I am one person and only got one and were charged for 2 different hair colorings.What is their legal ground on getting paid for thier services? What can they do, since I stopped payment on the check?

You can be sued for giving a bad check. You would have valid defenses as well as a counterclaim. If you are sued, seek counsel. You may bring suit for the damages you sustained. Chances are nothing will be commmenced by the shop.
