what do i do about a summons i got concerning a credit card debt for 8300.00 dollars, i havent been able to pay since i lost my job i april of 2008.

You must answer the complaint within 20 days or a default judgment will be entered against you. The credit card company will then try to garnish your wages etc. See an attorney in your county who handles collection cases as soon as possible. Many of these cases can be defended on technical grounds and or the amount reduced.
