Summons Notice for Mediation Hearing

I just received a summons for a mediation conference for a credit card debt of 1550.00 I have been unemployed for a while. I have no assets or property. I am collecting unemployment at this time. Will they accept a payment plan?

I am willing to pay it off but I can afford 50.00 a month.

Go to mediation and negotiate the best deal you can.

They will play hard ball and you need to also. Never start off with what you can afford. Start with $25 a week and try to negotiate below $50 a month. Never admit you are responsible, even to the judge. If it is a collection card company suing you, most of the time they cannot prove their case.
