Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Tired of paying on my credit card

I have a credit card with a balnce of $6000.00. As of July 2008 my balance was $6,500. From July 2008 to May 2009, I have paid the credit card $3,939 and my balance is $6000! I have been paying this credit card at least $2500 a year plus for 3 years. My balance never gets anywhere and I'm pretty sick of it. Is there a way I can fight the credit card company? Is it not fair that I have paid alot of money every month but the credit card never goes down. Technically, I have paid back every dollar I ever borrowed plus plenty of interest and other fee's! So, what can I do?

Re: Tired of paying on my credit card

I hate credit card companies and collection agencies. I defend such cases and win. They suck consumers into an illusion that you can use your credit card without major penaties. It just isn't so. You are paying a large portion for interest and penalties each month. A $100 item turns out to be $500 in most credit card transactions by the time you pay the bill. Were you paying the monthly requested amount?

Unfortunately, you are probably stuck. I would recommend you try to negotiate the bill down for one final payment and then burn your credit card...but do not cancel it. Canceling a card will affect you credit rating.
