I am unemployed and have a defaulted student loan. Is there anything I can do to prevent a Judgement against me?

contact the loan office that has your account - speak with them and ask for an extension to pay.

If they have filed a formal Complaint with the court to initiate a lawsuit, then you'll need to file an Answer within 20 days. Failure to do so will likely result in a Default Judgment against you. If they have not yet file the Complaint, you may be able to request a temporary forbearance or deferment and/or negotiate a payment plan.
