Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Unfair payoff amount after voluntary vehicle repossession

I purchased a 1998 ford expedition in february 2001 for $19,500 - a hot deal according to maroone ford -

paid $2000 up front, and $459/month. Was laid off end of march, and by end of july was forced to voluntarily return the vehicle, which was done in perfect condition, washed and lubed. Told them i had no way to keep paying.

I thought that i would probably lose much or all of the approx $5000 spent in those 6 months. To my dismay i received a bill for an additional $6,300

i think this is unfair; can i do anything about it? They are threatening lawsuit. I could - email a good size database describing these facts which could cost ford a lot more than my so called debt. Or perhaps there are a lot more people like me, for a class suit. Pse advise

thanks

If no improper charges were added in, you are stuck.

Very complex and unfair law on this subject. You will need to prove that they did not follow the letter of the law to prevent the excess charge. Call attorney direct.
