Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
i have an unpaid debt that has been assigned to a debt collection agency and they are offering a 50 percent settlement on the debt, but my problem is that i am unemployed and i have no money to even pay half, can they take me to court on this ? the debt is for early termination of a lease on an apartment. the apartment was leased with two other individuals who were also on the lease, but the collection agency is billing me for the full amount plus interest. could you give me any advice on what my rights are?
