Vehicle Lease
My father passed away 3/08 and was leasing a veh thru USBank and would have ended the end of 4/08. I turned had the vehicle detailed and turned it in 3/08 and notified them. They sent a bill for $977.17 for termination fee, excess wear and tear, late fees, outstanding rent and sales tax. My mother (whose name was not on the lease because she doesn't drive) should not have to pay this, should she?

It should be a personal debt of your father who now passed away and could become part of his estate debt, if a probate case will be filed, depends. Betty Blanco, Esquire
