Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

is verification just doing a credit check??
I rec'd a collection letter last year. I sent an answer by cert mail RR asking the atty for proof that this debt was mine. They never responded. When I checked my credit record, I saw that this item was still in my credit file. I wrote the Credit Rep Agency Cert mail RR that I disputed this debt w/the collection atty but that the atty never answered. I even sent the CRA copies of the letter and mail receipts. CRA sent me a letter in regular mail saying the item was verified and to contact the collection atty directly to get it removed. I've already done this & the collection atty never answered!
I have disputed this with the CRA 3 times and each time I ask the CRA for theinformation they have that shows this is mine, I notice by the dates on my credit report, that a few days right after each of my requests, the collection atty just does a credit check on my credit file, *then the Agency says it's verified and valid.
To me they are just giving me the run around.Isn't there a law against this? thank you

They can be sued for up to $1000 per violation. Please contact my office to discuss.
