voluntary surrender

I am contemplating whether or not to surrender my vehicle since I can no longer afford it. I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2000, (The vehicle was purchased after the fact) I contacted the company that I have the loan through they advised me that upon surrendering the vehicle I will be responsible for any fees plus what is owed after auction. (Contract states same) Is this legal in the state of Florida and what are my options in getting out of this contract that�s now killing me??
