Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Wage Garnishment

I am single with no dependents and am being sued by a creditor. I have $300 in my checking account and am making $700 a month. Can the creditor garnish my wages or account and what action will most likely be taken by the creditor given this information?

Re: Wage Garnishment

Based upon the facts in your question you cannot avail yourself of the garnishment exemption allowed to a head of household in Florida. You do have a $1000.00 personal property exemption and a like amount in a vehicle. Although your salary and account can be garnished there are limitations that severly restrict the net effect to you. I suggest you call me to discuss your problem. The initial 15 minutes is without obligation. Voice #305-940-8080.
