Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
My wages are garnished over a truck I let get reposessed in 1996. The judgement is for almost 16,000 plus 10% interest. The truck didn't cost that brand new and I paid for the truck 2 or 3 years before I had to let it go and it was a chevy s10. I have paid 7000 already on it. My question is What can I do to get this dropped. This just seems unreal the money I have to pay back for a 15 year old debt and I heard that once case is closed then the judge doesnt reopen.

get a lawyer and have them make a deal for you. After all, if you stop paying they would have nothing and they were to mitigate their damages so in essence you may not have owed that much to begin with.
