Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
My wife and I reside in Florida. Yesterday my wife received a certified letter from a municipal court in Ohio stating that a creditor is seeking to revive a dormant judgment made against her and her former spouse in 2014. My wife is currently unemployed. All of our bank accounts where we pool money were opened together after we got married. Ohio does not have tenancy by the entirety, but from my very limited understanding, if the judgement were to be revived, it would have to be domesticated in Florida in order to enforce it. Would then Tenancy by the Entirety apply, which would protect our assets or would Ohio law apply?
