Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My ex wifes vehicle was reposed in 2009 I was the co signor would this be considered a time barred debt 5 yrs is my understanding in FLA it is, if so can I remove it from my credit report leagally & disregard their collection antics?

It may be outside the Statute of Limitations, which would keep them from filing suit on the claim, but it can be reported on your credit for longer than that Statute of Limitations (usually 7 years).
