Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I work for a company that is headquartered in PA as an outside sales person working in FL. I found out that a credit card company has filed to garnish my wages. I am a divorced mother of a 20 year old, umemployed son who lives with me and I pay all of his living expenses. Can I claim "Head of Household" and be exempt from wage garnishment? Do the laws regarding wage garnishment in PA apply although I work in Florida? Thank you!

The garnishment order must have been entered in a PA court. You would need PA counsel. The law where the judgment was entered should apply.

Were you a resident of Florida when you were sued? Credit card cases must be filed in the county in which the debtor lives. If you were a resident of Florida, I would have a PA attorney attach the judgment and move to set it aside.
