Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I worked in Toronto, Canada with a company that eventually moved to Florida. So I now work with this same company in florida. I recently recieved a letter from a collection agency address to me with my company name and address on it saying court proceedings have found in their favor 15k that I owe them and that my wages can be garnished if I don't pay the full balance. I never was informed of any court proceedings, and I have been disputing the amout owed for about 10yrs. My question is "can a canadian collection agency that won a judgement against me in a Canadian court garish my wages here in the united states"?

Yes, as stated above. Best thing to do is demand proof of judgement and service of process on you. This could be a ploy. Want to know the law?
