Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

wrongful eviction on my credit report

My former apartment complex had changed management back in january 2002, they misplaced paper work and thought i hadnt payed for the month of september. They asked me for bank records, i wasnt able to give them until 5 days later becuase of my tight schedule, by then i had an eviction proceedings on me. I finally got to it, and they sau they would cancel the eviction proceeedings. I conituned to live there till my lease ended in July. I moved in temporarily with a friend, and kept on being turned down by apartment complex i applied for. I was mad because i was paying application fees and credit check fees. By the third time, i asked the agent what specifically was the problem and he said i had an eviction on my crdit report from just the previous apartment complex. i have asked them to expunge it off my records, and it has been a year later and it is still there. It puts a black mark on me and it embarrases me, especially now that i want to move again. I will have to explain the whole situiation over again to any place i apply for. Also, this company has still to give me my deposit back or give me any word about what they will do with it and it has been 6 months since i moved out. Should i get the full of my deposit back.

Re: wrongful eviction on my credit report

A lawyers letter should help on the credit issue. A lawyer could also help on the refund of security.
