Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
x-wife has not made a payment on car that i am a co-signer
i have been divorced for a little over 2 years now and have not lived with her close to 4 years. i co-signed for her to buy a car. its not that she been late 30, 60 or even 90 day late. she is now 110 days late, does not have any insurance on the car. i have no clue where she lives and i believe has recently re-married, from what i hear through the grapevine. over the past 4 years i and cleaned up my credit and have maintained perfect credit except for this car payment. i am ahead on ALL of my bills, even my new 8.5% mortgage (due to the repeated lateness of the car). if the finance company FINDS her and repo's the car. i could afford the payment with out any problem and would like that. how can i clean up the freaking mess she has made for me on my credit report. there is only 13 payments left on the car. since she is the primary and the registration of the car is in her name, is there any light at the end of this tunnel for me. my goal is to clean up my credit and keep it clean as i have been for the past 4 years, except for this one thing.
THANKS and sorry for being long winded

You need to find your ex and try to work things out with her. If the finance company finds her and repossess the car, you will generally not have the opportunity to obtain it from them. They will send the car to an auto auction and sell it there. You will be responsible for any deficiency.
