Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Two years ago I received a letter from an attorney stating I owed over 4k for a past credit card debt and if I didn't pay it. He would take me to court to impose a judgement for the amount owed. Due to feeling intimidated and not wanting this on my record. I agreed to a monthly amount, which I have been paying for the past two years. The original amount of the debt was only 1K.

I did sign an agreement with him. I have paid over 2K and I feel I shouldn't have to pay anymore. What do I need to do so I don't have to pay anymore?

I suggest you tell him to give you a statement paid in full. In the meantime you should contact the Florida Bar and file a complaint. Hopefully you have your receipt of what your debt originally was versus the amount he is requesting you to pay.
