Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I have 2 crack head children. Over the last 10 or more years, they have repeatedly asked for money and help. When I refuse to help, they threatened me to inform my workplace about a conviction I had over 30 years ago so I send them money for fear of losing my job.
I have worked for the last 27 years at the same job and I'm ready to retire. In November 2012 both sons started using crack again and demanding money from me. I didn't want to do this anymore but started sending money. We also had to sign over one of our cars to them. He promised to make the payments to us but has made only a few. They live in New York and I live in Florida. I don't want to do this anymore, I'm ready to retire. It has cost me thousands of dollars over the years. Money, which I had to borrow. Should I contact a lawyer in Florida or New York to help me.
