Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
2 days ago I hired an attorney to represent me in a misdemeanor case. I paid a retainer of $1000. However, I found an attorney who is charging a lot less. Can I have my reatiner refunded back? He has not started working on the case yet.

If the attorney has not yet started working on the case, he should refund your retainer. Even if he has done some work on the case which you may not be aware of, he should refund the retainer less reasonable fees he has earned. Of course, the entire transaction is governed by your written retainer agreement with the attorney, but I\'m sure it is fair and ethical.
