Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
If 4 people are charged with the same crime and all 4 qualify for public defenders, can they have the same lawyer or are the required to have 4 different lawyers due to conflicts of interest?

The answer will depend on the facts. Most likely there will be a conflict. As a result, the public defender's office will only be able to represent one of the four. Alternate counsel will have to be appointed for each of the others.
