Unfortunately, no it would not be. The bond is given at the time of arrest or at first appearance based on the charges cited by the police. However, when the state formally charges someone the bond will remain the same. A motion to reduce bond can be conducted and often will result in a lower bond.

Hope this helps.

Not automatically, but that is a great reason for a Criminal Lawyer to go forward with a motion to reduce the bond. Even if the bond issue is already addressed, the Judge will likely consider the reduced charge a change in circumstances, and reduce the bond.
