Immediately hire a defense attorney to properly resolve her case which should allow for an expungement or sealing of her record. She likely won't be able to do it on her own.

she can expect to be placed on pretrial intervention. this would place her on probation for about six months and she would have to complete a theft course and pay some fines. once she completes everything the State attorney will dismiss the case and she will not have a criminal record.
