Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my 12 year old child hit another child in the side .there was no injury and now the other childs parents want to press charges . they insist he goes to anger class and 1 yr program for first offenders my child is straight a honor roll every year and has never once been in trouble in or out of school .my child has been suspended from school for 2 days and i understand that but the other things they are making him do seem excessive

Only the state attorney's office can bring charges. While the parents can insist, the ultimate decision is up to the state, not the parents. It is up to you, in order to make peace so to speak, whether or not you offer counseling or other things just to avoid the potential problems.
