Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my 10 year old daughter was chased by a 50 year old man in a 12ft high 4x4 jeep and almost ran over. there were 8 other children in the group and all witnessed this happen. the officer said that an adult had to witness it for them to be considered witnesses, (a 15 yr old , a 14 year old, 12, 10, 8, 5, 4, and a 2 year old). is there a charge for this behavior? and i know the kids can be witnesses right?

The cop was wrong to say the kids can't be witnesses. They can and are all the time. There is a definitely a charge, such as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. You need to contact the supervisor of the police department in person and explain your concerns. You may also want to consider talking to the state attorney's office as well.
