Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My 19 year old is facing charges of grand theft auto and grand theft of a firearm. This isn't her first time on the grand theft auto; she did this in 2005 and as a minor served two years. We are in Volusia county in Daytona Beach Florida. Her public defender says she might get 5- 8 years but this sounds like she might get probation after doing five years. Is this possible? Could she get more time? She did write a confession of all charges upon her arrest.

Yes it is very possible, especially with a prior. Could get even more time depending on the discretion of the judge.
