Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Hi im 29 years old and i have a felony offense from when i was 15. I am trying to get that felony expunged so i will be able to go into the corrections field. Now my charge was conspiracy of burglary and it states in the expungment papies that, that charge automatically disqualifies you from expungement. I am wondering do the same laws apply even if its a juvenile offense???

Hi, what was the outcome of your case? This will determine whether you can seal or expunge, along with other eligibility factors. Certain charges will prevent you from sealing a criminal record, but it depends on the specific statute you were charged under. Also, in Florida,

Criminal records of juvenile crimes are kept on file until one of the following has happened:

the child reaches 24 years of age (if the youth was classified as a habitual offender, this age limit increases to 26 years of age);

5 years have elapsed after the last juvenile crimes entry was made for the youth; or

3 years after the death of the child.

Where are you seeing the record show up?

Karen
