Absconding means that the defendant took off or moved while on felony probation and failed to report to his/her probation officer as required by the probation terms. Usually, a Violation of Probation warrant is issued by the
Court for the defendant and it remains outstanding until the defendant is picked up to face the Violation of Probation charge.
