Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Adjudicate guilty on all counts?
I received a Plea Offer that doesn't sound like much of an offer. 16.2 total sentence points with non-state prison sanctions to 5 years maximum years in DOC for Possession of Controlled Substance and DWLSR. I really need a criminal defense attorney, but I can't really afford what I think it will cost.
I was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon and driving with a suspended license.
The weapon was legal according to the Florida Statutes (Beretta 380 was in a holster with a snap in my purse under the seat) and I had a concealed weapons permit, but it is expired.(I gave the officer my CW permit and told him about the gun). My husband always buys my tag renewal (has for years) and had forgot, so my tag was expired. I, also, thought that my truck was listed on our business auto insurance, but it wasn't. Thus, my license was susended. I had no idea that I had been driving around for months without insurance or a license.
The controlled substance is not specified in any of the papers I received and when I bonded out I was told it was something else. The CW charge was dropped (after being bonded out for $7500). This all occurred in a stereotypical small town. Please advise. I am not in the habit of breaking the law.

You dont mention what the plea offer is. I think my rates are quite reasonable if you would like to talk. I also need to know what county this is. Let me know.
