Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Adjudication? expundgment?

I had one out of 2 charges dismissed in 2006 after completing drug court. The charge that was not dismissed was adjudication withheld. I am able to get my first charges expundged and I need to find out what the plea is on a adjudication for the second charges. I am not sure how to answer questions on job applications as they pertain to my past charges. What do I need to do to get my first set of charges expundged and what is usually the plea on adjudication withheld?

Re: Adjudication? expundgment?

Withholding of Adjudication equates to a non conviction whild Adjudication means conviction. So if asked on a job application whether you have been previously convicted of a criminal charge, you can honestly answer no.

if adjudication was withheld then you can put on job applications that you have never been convicted of a felony. if you want to expunged anything you should use it on either the dismissed case or this second one. Use the expungement on the worse of the two charges so it won't come up on criminal background checks.
