adjudication of guilt witheld
I plead nolo contendre to strong arm robbery in aug 2006. sentenced to 2 yrs prison 4 yrs probation. adjudication witheld. dont you have to be convicted to go to prison? what does this mean for me? i am currently on probation and having difficulty getting a job. I was told that i have to check yes on the have you ever been convicted of a felony. is this true?

an attorney would have to review all of the information from your case, but if you received a "withhold of adjudication," and if you have not violated your probation (whereby the Judge can convert that withhold into an adjudication), then you might not have to disclose that charge as a "conviction" as you were not "convicted" of a felony (under the specific facts that you have given me).
