adjudication withheld

I am in Florida and I am getting off of probation. I had a charge and they said that they withheld adjudication. First of all I want to know what that means, second of all I want to know if the Federal Goverment reconizes this. Also I wanted to know if this was sealed could the goverment still see it. I wanted to work for the federal goverment, I have my bachlor's degree. I don't want this following me for the rest of my life.

Some jobs require that you reveal all the charges you have ever been arrested for even if you have it sealed. I think it depends on the agency, but sealing is fullproof.

First, you will need to have an attorney review your prior case to determine whether or not you are even eligible to apply to have your record sealed. The fact that you receive a "withhold of adjudication" is good, but that needs to be your only arrest (ever) and the crime in which you pleaded to needs to be one that is eligible to be sealed.

Assuming you can have your arrest record sealed, most federal government agencies are going to ask you, under oath, whether or not you have any sealed or expunged records. You will have to answer that question truthfully. However, if the charge was something minor, it may not automatically exclude you for applying for, or receiving, a federal position.
