Judges often follow probation officer recommendations, but it really depends on the judge, the prosecutor, and the severity of the violation and underlying charge.

Violation of Probation (VOP) cases are one of the few cases where the person is not entitled to a bond for release. The outcome will be based on the state attorney, probation officer, judge and defense attorney. Contact a local defense attorney for further assistance as VOP cases can be critical.
