Aggravated Assult

Help, My ex-boyfriend filed a sworn compliant saying I tried to run him over with my car. The State Attorney's office charged me with Assult. I am on probation for Forgery and Driving while license suspended. Probation ends in Jan'2001. Judication was withheld. Am I looking at jail time.

Like any answer to a criminal law question, the answer to your question is; IT DEPENDS. You might ask, On What? Well, first on your probation officer. How will he feel about this? Perhaps you should call him and see what he thinks. Next on your boyfriend. Will he want to pursue this case? Right now you should be real nice to him, see what he can do to drop the charges. Next it would not hurt to have a attorney speak with the State to counter act any bad-will that they might have for you, and to start an defense for you. GOOD LUCK!
