Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
i was in an altercation a month ago by a bar and a patron threw a drink on me and approached me in an aggressive manner i struck him a couple times no police report was filed i was not arrested and no witnesses saw it hes now stating he wants compensation or he will press charges what should i do

The police did their investigation and determined that no charges needed to be filed; therefore, it is not up to this person on whether criminal charges will be filed. However, he could sue you in civil court and seek compensation. I'm not saying he would win as you may have good self defense issues but that doesn't mean a lawsuit can't be brought.
