Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Is there an alternative to drug court if you are found with a small piece of foil that contains burned debris of cocaine as well as a straw containing the same? Also, I had a pill from an old prescription of Zanex. I do still have the prescription bottle, and I've been told that I have only 2 options, Trial or Drug Court, which will cost in excess of $8,000.00
For such a small infraction and a first time offence, does this sound correct to you?

Depending on the State Attorney, the facts of the case, and you attorney, there may be other options, including pleaing to probation, possible jail time and or rehab. None of these of course can be guaranteed. As far as the $8,000 for trial, each attorney charges different amounts, so you may want to shop around based on price as well as other qualities of a lawyer.
